A set of 6 Oak and leather chairs by Sid Pollard.
Sid Pollard was one of Robert “Mouseman” Thompson’s early apprentices and crafted many of the Mouseman pieces from before the Second World War.
After the war, he left Thompson’s workshop in Kilburn and set up on his own in Bagby, near Thirsk.
These chairs were purchased from Sid Pollard in the late 1970s. All Pollard’s pieces after he left Thompson’s employment are unmarked and do not have the carved mouse.
A really beautiful set. Wonderfully carved lattice back and tan leather upholstered seat.
Strong, sturdy and with no loose joints.
