In over 30 years of buying and selling Ravilious items, this piece has something that I have never seen before. There is a splash of the originlal hand painted yellow underglaze just under the rim of the platter.
It is such an unusual thing to see and adds such character and a human touch to such a lovely item.
Measures 27 1\2 cm across.
Wedgwood marks and date stamps to the reverse for 1953.
