Fred Scott for Hille – The Supporto Chair
Originally designed by Fred Scott (1942-2001) in 1979, the Supporto chair is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of 20th Century British design and arguably the finest desk\office chair to emerge from post war Britain.
A stunning piece and a permanent member of the V&A collection.
A scare chair and now no longer in production. When in production last, the chair retailed at around £2750 in price with a 12 week waiting list.
Designed to be elegant, functional and ergonomic, the Supporto really does tick all of the boxes when it come to both form and function.
Beautiful to look at and a joy to use.
The winner of numerous design awards down the years and voted “the chair that most influenced midern office seating! in 1991 by the Federation of International Architects.
This chair dates to the mid 1990s and is offered in really, really lovely original condition with just the normal signs of use – no issues at all.
Both height adjust and tilt work as they should and you’d struggle to find a better used example at such a reasonable price.
A scare chair these days, especially in leather and an opportunity here to buy a matching pair and the first time I have retailed a pair in over 20 years.
